Publish and Subscribe using Apple iCal
The following instructions will guide you through the very simple process of publishing your calendar as well as subscribing to a calendar using your apple iCal Calendar software.
Publishing your iCal Calendar
1. Launch the iCal Application.
2. Select the calendar you want to publish from the calendar list.

3. Select "Publish" from the calendar menu in the toolbar.

4. Choose the parts of the calendar you want the subscriber to have access to in the "Publish Calendar" window.
- Publish Name - Enter the name that will be displayed in the subscriber's calendar list.
- Publish Changes Automatically - Select to automatically your calendar on our servers 30 seconds after you complete a change. (Active internet connection required)
- Publish Subjects and Notes - Select this to make your event subjects and notes available to subscribers. (Leave selected unless you are making a calendar with alarms only)
- Publish Alarms - Select this to make your To Do items available to subscribers.(Subscriber has the option to remove To Do items)
- Publish on .MAc - Select this to publish your calendar to your .MAC account (Available from Apple for $99/year)
- URL - Enter your iCal Hosting URL here that you received in the "Welcome to iCal Hosting" email.
- Login - Enter your iCal Hosting user name here.
- Password - Enter your iCal Hosting password here.

5. Click the "Publish" button. When your calendar is successfully published a dialogue box appears with the URL people will use to subscribe to the calendar.

6. You can announce your calendar to people in your Address Book by clicking the "Send Mail" button. If you would like to announce it at a later time, Select "Send Publish Email" from the calendar menu in the toolbar.
Subscribe to an iCal Calendar
1. Click on the calendar you would like to subscribe to in the iCal World calendar library.
2. iCal will automatically open and display the "Subscribe to Calendar" window where you can set the details of your subscription.
- Refresh - Select this to automatically update the subscribed calendar. Choose from Refresh every 15 minutes, every hour, every day, or every week. (If left unselected., you can manually refresh a calendar by selecting "Refresh" from the calendar menu in the the menu bar.)
- Remove Alarms - Select this to remove all event alarms that may be in the calendar.
- Publish To Do Items - Select this to remove all event To Do items that may be in the calendar.

3. Click the "Subscribe" button.
Your calendar has now been added to your calendar list.
For iCal Hosting Secure Accounts
- Advanced Options -
Select this to subscribe to an
iCal Hosting secure calendar. - Needs Authentication - Select this to activate the Login and Password fields.
- Login - Enter your iCal World user name here.
- Password - Enter your iCal World password here.
- Note: Login, and Password are in the "Welcome to iCal Hosting " email you received when you setup your account.
